Youth Lead in The W.A.Y.
All youth are encouraged to participate in THE W.A.Y. (Worship Arts for Youth) This group of 7th-12th graders works together to develop a wide variety of worship arts. One month they may lead in worship through drama, the next through an anthem, and then ring a handbell anthem. While the primary goal of THE WAY is to enable this group to connect their gifts and talents to their faith and worship, participants gain skills in worship leadership and discover the many ways we can use the arts in worship. The WAY meets during the school year on Sunday afternoons in the Choir Suite from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Join at any time during the school year.
THE W.A.Y. WHITE GLOVE FOR LENT
Children and Youth and the Other Arts
Many children enjoy sharing their gifts in the arts such as playing the piano or their instrument in worship. They may want to work on a liturgical dance. Perhaps they enjoy drama or art. Come and have a conversation with Debi Tyree, Minister of Music, so she can discern how best to use these gifts in worship.
Children’s Choir Ministry
Our goal in the Children’s Choir Ministry is to help your child live out their faith by developing their talents and gifts and then offering them in service to God. The program begins in September and ends at the end of April. We meet on Wednesday evenings 6:00-6:45pm. We have two groups, the Music Maker for K-2nd grades and Young Musicians for 3-6th grades. The older group also learns to play handbells!
All leaders and volunteers have been Safe Sanctuary trained. We ask that children be signed in and out of choir each week. Join at any time during the school year.
